South cinema industry is doing great at Hindi box office now days. Recently there have been many successful movies including KGF 2, RRR and Pushpa. These movies are a huge hit, and have done huge business at Hindi box office in last few months, and creating new records for the industry.
It was expected that Bollywood will come up with some great ideas with upcoming movies to bridge the gap that the industry have is suffering in last few months since covid started in India. But nothing big happened for the viewers and the working brigade in Bollywood. So many workers from Bollywood industry are unemployed now and looking for new opportunities to work and recover the loss.
No big star from Bollywood has released any interesting movie in cinemas during this period. Rather they’ve been delaying the movies for a new release date so they can do huge at the box office but on the other hand South cinema is coming forward and releasing their movies in these days and the best thing is all the South movies are doing great at Hindi box office. This is really a big challenge for Bollywood and the superstars in Bollywood who believe to deliver big hits and can change the box office calculation in few weeks.
Some of the bollywood movies released during covid days are Farhan Akhterr starter Toofan, Ranveer Singh starrer 83 The Film, Akshay Kumar starrer Atrangi Re, Siddharth Malhotra starrer Sher Shah, Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor starrer Boot Police, Vicky kaushal starrer Sardar udham Singh, Saif Ali Khan starrer Bunty Aur Babli 2, John Abraham starrer Satyamev Jayate 2, Tadap movie starring son of Sunil Shetty – Ahan Shetty, Ayushman Khurana starrer Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, Pulkit Samrat and Rana Daggubati starrer Hathi Mere Sathi, Abhishek Bachchan starrer Dasvi, Raj Kumar Rao starrer Badhai Do and Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiyawadi, Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey, Anupam Kher starrer The Kashmir Files, Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund movie, Vidyut Jammwal starrer Khuda Haafiz.
Vidyut jamwal starrer khuda Hafiz was the first that caught the attention of videos during cob days but this movie was the list in Disney hot star. It was liked by many viewers but could not earn the amount expected from such movies. There are other movies which have done good but they are actually not the best performer. None of these movies performed well either in OTT platform or cinema Hall’s.
But a new trend has started for Hindi movie lovers, and this is related to the movies releasing in OTT platforms. We have seen many good movies have released in OTT platform like Amazon, Disney Hot Star, Jio Cinema and others. But now when the industry is recovering from covid effects it is expected that many of the movies which are planned to release in OTT platform will now release in cinema halls. Now box office collection of bollywood movies is a point of discussion for hindi film makers and superstars.
It is expected that new movies of bollywood superstars will be doing huge at box office. There are many big movies like Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali, Pathan, Dunki Dhaakad, Bhool Bhulaiya 2, Laal Singh Chaadha and few others are expected to do huge at box office window.
It will be interesting to see how bollywood will recover and change the face of stiff competition of south cinema industry.
